Lost/Stolen Green Card
Green Card Lost/Stolen:
A U.S. green card is the evidence of your lawful permanent resident status and
is also
the proof of your registration in accordance with United States
immigration laws.
You should file for green card replacement, if your green card is lost or
stolen. The Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card is used to
file for the replacement of lost or stolen green cards. The green card can only
be replaced inside the United States by the Department of Homeland Security
(DHS), Citizenship and Immigration Services. DHS may be able to issue you a
transportation letter which is valid for one month.
